Powder

The above image is from the balcony of the White Horse Hotel in Echoland, Hakuba.
Powder continued to pour overnight with around 40cm falling. There was almost too much powder on Happo One this morning with many snowboarders and skiers stuck in the snow, struggling to free themselves whenever unlucky enough to fall over. It's a bit of a shock to the system using muscles not used since last season. There will be a lot of sore bodies in Hakuba tomorrow!

The Snow Has Finally Arrived!!!

Snow has finally arrived in Echoland Hakuba, blanketing the village with 15cm yesterday and over 30cm today! After a longer than usual wait, today and yesterday's snow will finally allow Happo One, Hakuba's largest resort to open. Skiing and snowboarding in Hakuba is guaranteed to be truly epic this week with over 150cm forecast to fall over the next 4 days alone!

All of the staff from the White Horse Hotel - Artic and Double Black are eager to hit Happo One early tomorrow morning for our first Japan powder day of the season. The gondola opens at 8am with the queue expected to be large.
